Tartan Yachts For Sale by Members

Description Contact & Price

We purchased this boat with the intention of doing some extensive sailing along the entire eastern seaboard, but more immediately, cruising the Maine coast and Nova Scotia. Life circumstances have presented us with a few options we had not anticipated so we are offering her for sale, along with the mooring, and a dinghy.

We have done a fair amount of work on her in the past 2 years. Replaced the balsa core on the foredeck with cousa board. The resin work still needs some faring out and paint, but it does not affect the sailing. We rewired most of the mast, all brightwork is redone, new docking lines, rebuilt the windlass, new forestay, and all port lights replaced, but as with any 50 year old vehicle, she needs more..The motor is a Universal m25 20 horse 3 cylinder diesel that runs well. Batteries hold a charge. We have 2 new thermostats, one to install in the spring and one for backup. New docking lines too.

 T-34            70's Era T-34
This T-34 Classic was bought and owned for many years by a Maine Tartan salesman and then handed down to his son.  It is hull number 466.

Like all Tartans, she is a solid boat but she has been by the side of the road for a number of years and will need an owner willing to devote some time to restoring her for seaworthy service.

Call owner for current information and full details.

  1996 Tartan 3800
Located in Marion, MA

Professionally maintained, Sagittarius is a traditional well-crafted Tartan that looks good, is in excellent condition and, most importantly, is fun to sail.

Canvas (dodger, bimini, sail and pedestal covers) and laminate sails (main and genoa) were purchased in 2010 but have only two seasons wear.

Electronics, windless, fresh water wash-down and running rigging (main halyard, main sheet, and traveller lines) were updated in 2016.

Service logs are available for all work commissioned by owners.
