HI Thomas, I'm not to familiar with the T40, as I'm on the west coast and we dont see to many of the older Tartans out here. However, I have had some success in finding parts for my 86 T34 on Rigrite.com including a mast step for my Kenyon spar. You will need to know the size of your spar to figure out what type and brand you have. But would bet the T40 is rigged with Kenyon spars. Hope this helps.

Greetings, I am considering the purchase of an 89 T 40 that has a new crack in the mast step. Has anyone replaced one before? Will Tartan Yachts make up a replacement? I'd welcome anyone's advice. Thank you. Tom
