I have a carbon fiber pole inserted through the coaming near the stern on the port side. The pole is pinned to a metal bracker in the hull below deck. It is removable. There is a circular plate that can be screwed into the hole when the pole is removed.

I bought a Garmin HD 18 Radome and would like advise as to the best placement - Backstay or pole.
My Tartan 34 has a single backstay and would rather not place it on the mast.
Any advise would be helpful
