Folding/feathering Prop
Julian

I am looking to upgrade my prop from a fixed three blade prop to a folding or feathering prop. Any recommendations? she is a 2001 4100.

I installed a Max Prop Easy in March 2021 and love it. So much power in reverse and have noticed approximately a 1-1.5 knot increase in speed while sailing. PYI was very easy to work with and very knowledgeable. I went with an 18 inch, 11.5 inch pitch RH, with a 90 mil hub bored to a 1-1/8 inch shaft diameter. They have all the data for what your boat may need...they just want you to verify shaft size. Kit comes with extra pitch screws so you can adjust forward or reverse pitch to your liking. It also comes with the grease nipple, grease gun, grease and an extra hub anode. Maintenance can be done in the water (annually). The only thing I don't like is I've lost a lot of the prop walk I used to have with the fixed 3-bladed prop. Just takes time to get used to it. T4100 Triforce (1996 #6).
