Thanks! I have been able to fill it with a 5 gal gas can , oddly , without problems. I will give you a buzz one day.

Dewey,
The vent tube is fitted to the rear outboard corner of the tank and runs aft and up . If you are experiencing problems with your fueling and it is vent related, I would suspect something has fouled the vent near the exit - like a mud dauber or something similar. Getting to the back of the vent opening involves crawling over the rudder quadrant and yoga-like poses. I compressor nozzle into the end removed from the tank might clarify the problem.
I see you are a neighbor (I'm up in Williamsburg). Give me a call to discuss Tartan 33s. I keep mine in Deltaville and have several projects resulting from a lengthy period on the hard. 757 206 9428 (cel) 757 221 0284 (work).

I recently had to replace the fuel filler cap as I had cross threaded the cap. Ever since, I have had horrible problems trying to put fuel into the tank. It simply does not want to go down the fill tube. Does anyone know if the fuel vent tube is tied into the actual fuel tank or fill line? The owners mannual shows them like they are totally separate. I suppose the vent could be clogged separate and part from the new filler cap, but the timing seems very suspicious.
Allso, if it IS clogged, what’s the best way to clear it?
