My 1974 Tartan 30 West Wind is currently in Rhode Island, and I am in Virginia. Prior to hurricane / tropical storm Henri, a friend of mine kindly volunteered to take down the mainsail. But when he got on board, he was unable to open the companion way hatch. He definitely knows his way around boats, so if he couldn't get it open, something out of the ordinary is going on. Has anyone had a similar problem?
By the way he wrapped lots of line around the sail cover, and the boat made it through the storm fine.
